We had a gloomy May Gray day out on the water but that didn’t stop the animals from coming out to play! In the morning we saw dolphins upon dolphins starting with inshore bottlenose dolphins just outside the channel, 100 offshore bottlenose dolphins out to sea, and at least 800 feeding common dolphins spread all around us. In the afternoon the dolphins must have been hiding but that’s okay, because we found ourselves a BLUE WHALE! Our very patient guests were rewarded after a long journey with looks at the largest whale species on earth! This was also the first blue whale our naturalist Erin has seen while working on the Privateer, so thanks to everyone for making it such a special day!
