Another day full of sunshine and flat, calm seas today for guests aboard the Privateer.

Captain Steve decided to go further south today so we could check out some new territory. On our way out of the jetties, we spotted about 5 bottlenose dolphins coming into the bay.
We also saw about 800 common dolphins between 2 different pods.

As we approached 8 miles, we spotted a spout on our left. We saw it spout about 3 times before it went down. Unfortunately, the Navy had a boat out there that needed us to clear the area, so that was all we saw of that whale! Based on what we saw though, we believe it was a blue whale. This is great news, as we haven’t seen a blue in a while!
Maybe we can get some better looks tomorrow…
