Dolphins galore today! And 2 sea turtles!
We saw more common dolphins than we’ve seen in a very long time. There were close to 3,000 all swimming in a very dense megapod. They were interacting with the boat and were very inquisitive. We had at least 20 bow riders for the 30 minutes we were engaging with them. We saw a few pacific white sided dolphins as well…our second dolphin species of the trip.
But to start off the day, we found a sea turtle crossing right as we got outinto the ocean…a sight we rarely see. So you can imagine our surprise when we found yet ANOTHER sea turtle on the way back in from our trip. Sea turtles are usually found here off of our coast in the summertime when the water is warmer.
No large whales today, but guests sure had fun with the diversity of life we found out there.
