Whale-watching can be full of ups and downs, and today we had a lot of them – more than a hundred in fact! That’s because we broke a San Diego Whale Watch record today by observing a juvenile humpback whale breach MORE THAN ONE HUNDRED TIMES near our boat – a SDWW record! In fact when we left the scene to search for dolphins, the whale was still breaching behind us with no signs of stopping!

In addition to our Energizer Humpback, we also found 200-300 short-beaked common dolphins, about 500 long-beaked common dolphins, two hammerhead sharks, and several harbor seals.

Today was the sixth consecutive day of humpback sightings, with San Diego turning into watery nursery school for newly weaned youngsters. How long will the streak continue? Only one way to find out!
