We may have seen hundreds of Common Dolphins today, but a day on The Pacific is never just common! We encountered three exciting pods of Common Dolphins, one of which included the Short-Beaked variety! All three pods were active at the surface and eagerly bow-rode at the front of our boat. We witnessed many different behaviors, including porpoising, stampeding, leaping (>15ft out of the water!) and cow-calf interactions. While bouncing between groups, we spotted a rare MASKED BOOBY, sitting lazily on the water! We were shocked at how long it remained at the surface without taking flight. We’re pulling in for the day with another great day ahead of us tomorrow. See you on the water!
