We LOVE Gray whale season! Today, we had multiple sightings of Gray whales, Common dolphins, and Pacific white-sided dolphins throughout the day! During the morning, we encountered a total of seven Gray whales. All but one were headed southbound. Our single northbound Gray whale was traveling pretty quickly 1-mile from shore. We observed ~10 Pacific white-sided dolphins around us too!
During the afternoon, we encountered four Gray whales that were all headed south. Many of them showed us their flukes as they went down for deep dives. We had some pretty curious dolphin interactions. Both Common dolphins and Pacific white-sided dolphins swam all around us! They surfed our wake and rode the bow of the Ohana.
