We didn’t get the memo that it was day of the dolphins today! Common Dolphins were spread throughout the entirety of our range and we were fortunate enough to see hundreds of them! On the morning trip, we counted at least 600 Common Dolphins in total throughout the excursion. Little time was spent without dolphins in view. We found an additional ~200 Common Dolphins this afternoon AND at least two northbound Gray Whales on the second trip! We didn’t have much time to spend with the whales, so we did not gather too much information from the sighting. Luckily, the Common Dolphins made up for the shortage of baleen today. Such is nature sometimes! We’ll be back on the water tomorrow for another go! Until then, whale watchers.
