The baleen is BACK in San Diego and our favorite juvenile Humpback Whale, informally known as “Twitch”, was seen paralleling the Point Loma coastline! To our surprise, he/she raised its tail in preparation for nearly every deep dive, a behavior we see very little from this frequent visitor. Short-Beaked Common Dolphins also made a great appearance today..up to 500 of them!! As expected, they were very acrobatic and we were lucky enough to see them leap up to 10 feet in the air beside us! We are embarking on two trips tomorrow and we hope to have another fantastic day! Until then, whale watchers.
