La Jolla canyon had the goods this morning! We found ~100 Common Dolphins and one dozen California Sea Lions within a giant feeding frenzy of mammals and birds! The pod was scattered into multiple groups that each dialed in on condensing patches of bait. Just outside of the productivity we found another few hundred circling birds including a rare LAYSAN ALBATROSS!! We couldn’t help but circle this enormous long-winged bird until we landed right in-between two Minke Whales! On top of our fantastic sightings, we enjoyed amazing sea conditions and favorable visibility. We are on high alert for exotic species this week so come on out and help us locate more wildlife!
