We embarked on two fabulous trips today and each trip included a visit from one of two very different species of toothed whale! The Pacific was TEAMING with Common Dolphins, birds and California Sea Lions this morning and we zig-zagged through countless feeding frenzies full of wildlife! In total, we counted ~500 Common Dolphins throughout the trip! In addition to hunting behavior, we noted many cow-calf pairs and a few instances of courtship/mating interactions between adults.

On our afternoon excursion, the Common Dolphins completely disappeared but we were so happy to find a pod of ~40 Offshore Bottlenose Dolphins instead! The pod was filled with newborn-mature calves and we were lucky enough to catch them while they were milling around the area. We have another two trips coming up tomorrow and we can’t wait to get back out on the water!

Trash/recyclables collected: Zero!
