Happy Friday equated to Happy passengers! What a gorgeous day off the coast of San Diego! The ocean was calm and the visibility was spectacular! We headed to the south in search for marine wildlife. Although it took some time, we spotted a huge pod of short-beaked Common dolphin (~200)! They were extremely active but not in travel mode which gave our guest a very close encounter. As we were headed back to Mission Bay, a Bryde’s whale surprised us and popped up right next to our vessel! Our guest experienced a very RARE sighting and were extremely excited to see a baleen whale!
