The ocean was ALIVE this morning!
We started our tour heading to the south when we came upon a large pod of long beaked Common dolphins! They were very interactive with our vessel, riding the wake, leaping out of the water and swimming at high speeds. As we were observing them, we saw some more activity in the distance so we went to investigate! We thought it was another large pod of dolphins but it turned out to be a massive aggregation of Yellow fin tuna! The tuna was very surface active as they were preying on anchovies. Then to our surprise we saw a Minke whale right in the mix! As we ventured further North, we could see miles and miles of Yellow fin tuna feeding with many pelagic birds flying above! It was absolutely amazing to witness! Better than any Nat Geo documentary on television ๐Ÿ™‚
