We JUST missed the storm this morning! We departed Mission Bay and entered the open ocean to find ourselves in some pretty amazing conditions. In shallow, coastal water, we spotted a scattered pod of 1-2 dozen Pacific White-Sided Dolphins. They were busy foraging so we left them behind in an effort to minimize disruption to their feeding behavior. Instead, we found a boat-friendly pod of ~200 Short-Beaked Common Dolphins, filled with babies and acrobatic adults! The conditions escalated on our way in and the rain began as soon as we hit the dock. Talk about perfect timing! We encourage everyone to drive safely on the roads throughout the rain this week. We’ll see everyone bright and early Thursday morning!
