Happy December! We started a new month with a new friend! A boat-friendly Humpback Whale traveled beside us, surrounded by a mix of Common Dolphins and Pacific White-Sided Dolphins! The wildlife had clearly been circling food until our arrival, when everything (birds, dolphins, the whale and sea lions) began trending steadily to the south. We were happy to follow along and tic-tac between ~10 Pacific White-Sided Dolphins, ~80 Common Dolphins, one dozen California Sea Lions and the humpback. It really was what we like to call a one stop shop! We can’t wait to see what we can find on our next trip out! Until then, whale watchers.

We, and all San Diego whale watching vessels, urge everyone to be mindful of the environment when purchasing or disposing of mylar balloons this holiday season! They are a detrimental hazard to the wildlife that we care so much for
