New Year, New Cleanup Efforts! Our next Virtual Co New Year, New Cleanup Efforts! Our next Virtual Community Cleanup will be on Sunday, February 14, 2021! In honor of Valentine's Day let's send love out to our friends and family with thoughtful gifts like homemade cupcakes, local grown flowers, and handmade cards! Ocean-friendly reminder: please do not gift Mylar balloons! Every single one poses a hazard for marine life. They never break down and once the coloration is lost, they look like jellyfish. If ingested the Mylar balloon and string can be harmful to wildlife! While searching for whales and dolphins, we tend to retrieve at least one or a bundle of Mylar balloons on each trip! After holiday's like Valentine's day we see a huge abundance in Mylar balloons because they are either let go intentionally or by accident. What goes up must come down and out in the ocean is where we tend to find them. We currently hold a record of 26 Mylar Balloons successfully retrieved from the ocean during ONE whale watch trip! We always do our best to pick up any marine debris from the ocean during our tours. To extend efforts on land, please join us and help clean up your neighborhood and participate in February's Virtual Community Cleanup.
