Right off the bat today we found a pod of about 100 long-beaked common dolphins feeding with brown pelicans, elegant terns, and gulls, traveling from bait ball to bait ball a couple miles offshore. We continued west and found our first Mola mola and then a south bound nursery pod of short-beaked common dolphins. We then traveled south along the drop off before encountering another pod of long-beaks and feeding birds and our second Mola mola of the day. As a bonus, we spotted a purple striped jellyfish inside mission bay coming back in!
