A special day on the water with killer whales that we went 14 miles offshore to catch up to. A rare sighting for us here in San Diego, the last time we saw orcas was 3 years ago. We spent so long reaching them that we only got about 2 breath cycles with these gentle giants but they surfaced right near the boat. The CA216S pod is made up of 7 orcas including a newborn named “Frosty” due to the lack in dark pigmentation on the majority of his body. A special day on the water for all who were lucky enough to experience the magical sight that left everyone speechless.
Can’t wait to see what the rest of the Fall season brings!
