We had a great day on the water with lots of life! This afternoon we set out west and about 11 miles out found a known humpback whale named “Top Gun”. This whale is missing this sides of its tail flukes and has lots of scarring from a killer whale encounter at some point in its life. In 2015 this whale was seen in RUSSIA and it decided to cross the pacific and join the California population! We also found hundreds of birds along with around 300 long-beaked common dolphins and on our way in a pod of around 25 offshore bottlenose dolphins. On our sunset trip we relocated Top Gun along with about 200 feeding long-beaked common dolphins.
