We had a very cool day with a large spread out pod of false killer whales this morning! A pod of around 200 long beaked common dolphins were coming towards us before stampeding away, presumably once they detected the false killer whales, which are known to occasionally prey on other dolphins. This afternoon we had a pod of inshore bottlenose dolphins and a northbound gray whale.
