We had two phenomenal trips today! We hung out with a beautiful Cow/Calf pair of Blue whales! They were seen 11-miles from Mission Bay and seemed to be circling one area, milling. We enjoyed watching the pair synchronize their breaths as they swam right next to each other. They had short dive times of only ~7-10min didn’t go very far upon surfacing. Mama Blue even mugged us and popped up right next to us! Gave us chills as we could hear her mighty breath! We were so lucky to see mom’s big arch of the back and huge tail being lifted as she went down for a sounding dive! During the afternoon trip, we had a pod of ~200 Long-beaked Common dolphins that passed through the Blue whale zone.
Now is the time to join us! Hope to sea you on the next one!
