What a BEAUTIFUL day we had! We only went out about 7 miles from Mission Bay when we got pretty lucky with a couple minke whales on our morning trip. One stuck around with us for a while showing off its dorsal fin and splashing around while feeding. There were 4 separate feeding frenzies of birds that we saw. We caught up with a smaller group of short beaked commons on our way back in. Our afternoon trip got the chance to become “part of the pod” with 2 different pods of short beaks and one really large mixed pod.
