It was a beautiful day out there today! We enjoyed calm seas and nice visibility. We set out to deeper water to find wildlife. Close to 10 miles from shore on the morning and afternoon trips, we got lucky and found some acrobatic Short-beaked Common dolphins! Upon approach, we watched as they launched out of the water like rockets! We loved to observe the babies race toward the bow to try their first attempts at bow-riding! We could hear many of them as they whistled near the boat. In total, we encountered ~500 short-beaked Common dolphins throughout the day.
This time of year is when we have some of the calmest seas, so hope to see you soon!
