We enjoyed two awesome trips today! We had nice, calm seas and incredible visibility throughout the day. During our afternoon trip, we encountered a small pod of ~5 Inshore Bottlenose dolphins on our way out of the jetty. Within a couple of miles, a handful of Long-beaked Common dolphins popped up near by. We could see thousands of birds diving in front of us so we caught up with the activity. We observed Common dolphins feeding on bait fish. More Commons were sighted to the south, bringing us to a total of ~500 dolphins. During our sunset tour, we encountered a huge pod of Long-beaked Common dolphins! They too were only a few miles from shore. We observed cow/calf pairs all around the boat. Many dolphin bow-rode the boat and surfed in our wake! The sunset was amazing!
