We had an amazing two trips today! This morning we encountered a southbound BLUE whale just 3 miles out. A blue whale here in December is quite a rare sight. We then headed toward a huge pod of long-beaked common dolphins and found a young humpback whale following a megapod! This afternoon we went north looking for the pod and the whale and found the dolphins off Torrey Pines and a different adult humpback whale and a fin whale! A truely memorable day.
