It was mommy and me day out there! Our morning trip got to catch up with 2 gray whales that loved being at the surface. We also got to see about 250 long beaked common dolphins with loads of babies in the mix! Our afternoon trip got to hang out with a cow calf pair and we got to see the baby playing in the waves! We even got a glimpse of a baby tail fluke! We continued to the north and came across a trio of grays hanging out. We pushed towards the west and found a group of 4 that were rolling around in the waves. We had an awesome sunset trip! Right out of the jetties, we sighted a spout! It ended up being a cow/calf pair. Mom was being very protective over her newborn, and kept us at a distance. Next, we found a big pod of ~150 Long-beaked Common dolphins. A trio of Gray whales was sighted out to the west. We observed beautiful spouts, and tails! We found the dolphins again, and sighted three more spouts to the north. We enjoyed a few cycles with two of the three gray whales. The sunset was perfect!
