Nothing beats San Diego’s grey May like a case of the blues!
We had a fun and successful afternoon trip on the Privateer today catching up with a baleen whales and toothed whales.
Racing out towards the drop-off we saw circling and diving terns and sheerwaters and caught up with a small pod of long beaked common dolphins. They zoomed around the boat feeding. We didn’t spend long with them as we had our eyes on a much larger prize and headed 12 miles from Mission Bay to spectate a glorious blue whale feeding on krill.
This beauty was fairly dark in coloration and lifted its fluke on every single dive. Just Magical! Come join us soon to catch the blues while they’re here. -Ruth
