Why do dolphins make great friends? – because they always go with the flow! We made so many new dolphriends today on the Privateer! We saw our favorite trio of dolphins; including short-beaked common dolphins, long-beaked common dolphins and offshore bottlenose dolphins! We saw a massive pod of ~450 short-beaked common dolphins on our morning trip! They were leaping out of the water and showing off their acrobatics! We hung out with the shorties for a good amount of time. Then, on our way in we saw ~150 long-beaked common dolphins! They were cruising along the Privateer and surfing in our wake and crossed our bow! We also saw a striped Marlin and flying fish! Then, on our afternoon trip, we found an ENORMOUS pod of ~100 offshore bottlenose dolphins! We saw so many calves! The adults were leaping out of the water, tail-slapping and even forward breaching! It was so much fun seeing these offshore bottlenose dolphins come along for a ride!
Sunset steals the show again today! We spotted a pod of ~150 long beaked common dolphins today right as the sun was setting. This is the most magical thing i think we see out here – it’s almost as is Pixar and good old Mother Nature are brainstorming together.
The weather is starting to cool down again, with weather changes usually come a little switch up with the wild life! We sure are hoping!
