Isn’t it always the dream when you visit some place new – to have a well versed local tour guide show you all the best spots in town? Well, that’s exactly what we got today! From start to finish – multiple pods of long beaked common dolphins showed us around the Pacific Ocean – only leaving our side for short periods of time or to let another pod take the lead! We even got some coastal bottlenose on the way back into rather bay! There’s just SO MUCH life out here right now!

Our sunset trip was absolutely breathtaking! We travelled southwest and encountered a wonderful pod of ~30 offshore bottlenose dolphins! They were coming up to the boat and creating massive splashes with their impressive tail throws! We also saw a familiar and unique bottlenose dolphin today with a severed dorsal fin! Not sure what happened to this big guy, but he was keeping up with the rest of the pod just fine! We’ve seen him before on our previous trips! Then, once we reached the drop-off we found a fabulous pod of ~100 short-beaked common dolphins! We saw so many adorable calves in this pod! Our last little treat was another pod of ~40 offshore bottlenose dolphins! They were leaping out right in front of a gorgeous fiery red and pink sunset! The sunlight reflecting off their dorsal fins made their fins look gold in colouration! The ocean contains so much magic within its blue seas! Please join us soon.
