We had a Killer time on the afternoon trip! It was ORCAmazing!

We got word from our friends at Gone Whale Watching that there were Orcas in San Diego! We zoomed out to the west as fast as we could and got out to 15-miles from shore, literally the farthest we can go on any tour! Once we got on scene, we started to see some tiny lil’ spouts! One poof after the other! We were lucky to observe the 5 Eastern Tropical Pacific Killer Whales of Southern California! You can learn about each individuals in this pod at: tinyurl.com/ETPIDs. They were traveling slowly to the SW. With our short 10-min visit, we could see there was at least one cow/calf pair, likely Cookie! We also recognized one of them as Kali! We watched them surf the wake of other boats in the area! In our drone footage we even noticed possibly Top Notch was sighted carrying a dolphin in its mouth! It was an absolutely amazing day! We also saw ~100 common dolphins at the beginning of the trip.

On sunset trip was absolutely beautiful! We quickly encountered an awesome pod of ~150 long-beaked common dolphins. They were being very boat-friendly and were surfing in our wake and riding the bow. We love seeing long-beaked common dolphins because they are so spunky and full of life! We peeled off and continued on our whale watching journey. We found another amazing pod of ~50 long-beaked common dolphins. The sunset was the cherry on top for another amazing day on the Pacific Ocean.
