WHAT A DAYYYY!!!!! You never know out here! Our morning trip got ghosted! Not a single animal in sight but MAN did our day TURN AROUND. We set out with low hopes on our afternoon trip but quickly found a rambunctious pod of bottlenose dolphins that were leaping mid-air, head butting each other and getting a bit wild, they were bow riding and surfing in our wake. THEN, we found 3 Humpback whales – traveling together heading south to Mexico. We actually spotted more whales out to the west – but decided to hone in on the grouping of three. Sunset trip, based off the direction and speed of travel of the last trip, we calculated their course and very quickly relocated the trio of whales. We even had one BREACH feet from the vessel – right in front of the sunset light but it was so out of the blue that we didn’t manage to capture it!
Looks like the whales are cruising south to Mexico! Fall season is ON! Get out here while the getting it hot!
