Sunshine, Smooth seas, Southbound Gray whales and Social Pacific white-sided dolphins ALL DAY!!
We had two amazing trips with amazing sea conditions. During our morning trip, we began our journey to the south. We hugged the coast to see if we could catch up with any Gray whales. It was pretty quiet to start so we pushed out to the NW. We were stoked to spot a big spout about a half a mile way! It was coming up for 2-4 breaths with short 3-5min dives! We managed to get a couple tail flukes observed but most of the time it was going for shallow dives. We turned in toward the coast and spotted a fun pod of ~10 Pacific white-sided dolphins! They zoomed around the entire boat! With our glassy blue waters, we could see them swimming below about 10-ft down! Their striking black/white and gray coloration was so beautiful to see!
On our afternoon trip, we spotted a spout only about a mile from shore! It was a nice big Gray whale that was cruising south! It may be possible that it was feeding as we did see it circling around. We got great views of its beautiful heart-shaped spout. We spotted more Pacific white-sided dolphins nearby and enjoyed their fun social company!
We hope you will join us soon!
