What an eventful day at sea! We headed out to the zippiest fin whale we’ve seen in a while. This whale was racing nearly a mile north every single time it came up from a dive! Eventually it got winded (or watered? ) and chilled out a bit, giving us incredible looks as it surfaced right next to the boat. We even got to turn the motors off and listen to the breath of one of the largest animals on our blue planet—an unforgettable moment.
On our way back in, we found a nursery pod of common dolphins having an absolute blast—surfing the waves, goofing off, and leaping out of the water.
What a day!
