We ran way out west on our afternoon trip and spent time with a mother and calf humpback whale. Baby was coming up every 3 minutes and mom every 5, with an ENORMOUS tail throw and a HUGE breach on approach! They stayed at the surface and gave us incredible looks.
Our sunset had so many species. We found a huge pod of short‑beaked common dolphins flying as high as they could! This pod was spread over a few miles, probably 500–600 strong, and the sunset light was unreal. No wind, molten golden seas, dolphin silhouettes slicing through the swells. We even got a flyby from a very cool Nazca booby while hanging out with the pod.
Right as we were about to enter the jetties, we found a small pod of long‑beaked common dolphins in the prettiest sunset pastels — the most serene views.
