BLUE WHALES? YEP. FOUR OF THEM.
This streak of unexpected wildlife is absolutely MIND-BOGGLING.
We headed north this evening, and within four miles of the jetty we found two blue whales traveling side by side. Earlier, we’d spotted a spout about a mile offshore, but nobody had seen ANY life north of the Mexican border all day, so we were cautiously hopeful.
Then suddenly… there they were.
Not one. But two.
The largest animals to ever live on Earth.
Their towering spouts blasted into the sky with such force you could feel each breath from nearly 100 feet away. In the crystal-clear conditions, their bodies glowed with that incredible sapphire-blue hue that gives them their name. Their silver, iridescent skin looked completely unreal, like something from another world.
We took off, kept searching and found MORE blue whales! A total of 4.

Now, the question is – How do we make spending ALL day on the water happen tomorrow? Preposterous to suggest we’re willing to miss a single thing!
