Boat Crew – Deckhands, Galley Crew & Marine Naturalists
We are hiring Deckhands/Galley Crew and Marine Naturalist/Deckhands for the upcoming season. This is more than a seasonal job- it’s an opportunity to help people connect with the ocean in a way that stays with them for life.
We expect every crew member to act as an ambassador for the ocean, our guests, and our company. All crew members work as a team and are expected to support multiple roles as needed to ensure smooth vessel operations, exceptional guest experiences, and a safe environment onboard.

Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- CPR and First Aid certification preferred (training provided if needed).
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Customer service, hospitality, boating, or marine experience is a plus.
- Ability to multitask and stay positive in dynamic conditions.
- Willingness to work outdoors in varying weather.
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and perform active deck duties.
- Flexible availability including weekends and holidays.
- Must pass a pre-employment and random drug test per U.S. Coast Guard regulations.
Essential Responsibilities
Deckhand Responsibilities:
(Deckhands also work in the galley or as naturalists.)
- Welcome and assist guests from boarding to disembarking.
- Support the Captain with vessel operations, line handling, and docking.
- Maintain constant awareness of passenger safety.
- Participate in safety drills and respond professionally in real-time situations.
- Maintain cleanliness of decks, seating areas, and restrooms.
- Help capture wildlife sightings and guest experiences through photos and short videos to support our storytelling and social media efforts.
- Help guests understand and appreciate marine wildlife and ocean stewardship.
Galley Crew Responsibilities:
(Galley crew also serve as deckhands.)
- Prepare and serve snacks and beverages, including basic bartending.
- Accurately handle POS transactions and cash.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe galley/bar area.
- Ensure guests feel cared for and have an enjoyable onboard experience.
- Support capturing positive onboard moments and guest experiences for company storytelling and social media.
Marine Naturalist Responsibilities:
(Naturalists also serve as deckhands.)
- Deliver engaging, educational narration about marine life, ecology, and conservation.
- Foster curiosity and enthusiasm for ocean science among guests of all ages.
- Operate onboard camera equipment to capture high-quality wildlife and guest photography for our photography package and company marketing, including social media.
- Assist with boarding, docking, safety procedures, and deck operations.
Team Collaboration:
- Work closely with captains and fellow crew members to deliver seamless trips.
- Represent our mission, values, and commitment to conservation with professionalism and enthusiasm.

What to Expect
Pay Rate: $18–$23/hour (based on experience) + tips
Position Type: Part-Time / Seasonal Flexible scheduling including mornings, evenings, weekends, and holidays.
