Straight up MAGIC out there today! The morning started off with a pair of SPERM WHALES! ( After thousands of trips out here, we’ve never seen them here in San Diego) The sunset trip was filled with the most beautifully improbable and STUNNING sightings. We set out to the north, and quickly sound a boisterous pod of short-beaked common dolphin, they were SO playful! Launching their bodies so high, the rose over the horizon line and appeared to be flying! After everyone got their fill of these playful joy torpedos – we began searching for some larger wild life. We made it all the way up to the La Jolla canyon and found a feeding frenzy of long- beaked common dolphin accompanied by a HUGE fast moving fin whale! The FASTEST of the baleen whales speeding through the sunset evening water illuminated by a TOASTY reddish orange sunset. We got ANOTHER green flash, and the FULL MOON rising over the hills of San Diego. Breath taking, nothing short of it.
