There are very few places on earth where you can see such a variety of whale species on a single 2.5 hour tour, today – we had ALL THE BIODIVERSITY!

It was a great day to be back on the water, while a bit lumpy still really fun! We’ve had whale sightings on all trips so far for the day! On our morning trip, we sighted 2 Fin whales! One was circling the area likely feeding! We got amazing looks as it swung by us a few times! We also recognized it from our last time we were out on Tuesday! We must have some good eatin’, it decided to hang out for the week! We were also happy to see about 10 Pacific white-sided dolphins on our way in! They were surfing the waves!

On our afternoon trip we cruised out to the west and searched high and low and finally about 7-8miles from shore we caught up with 2 Humpback whales! They were on the smaller side and were traveling very closely together and headed NW!

What a STUNNER of a day! Our sunset trip kept up with the vibe of the day, we headed out and IMMEDIATELY- and i mean less than a mile from shore – sighted a gray whale. We cruised south with this snorkeling gray for some time but, we’d already sighted a towering spout on the horizon so we went to investigate. We found one of the two fin whales from earlier, and just beyond that fin, HUNDREDS of common dolphin. After we got our fill of the fin, we set out to the dolphin dappled horizon. The common dolphins cruised along in our wake having LOADS of fun surfing. Right before we made it back to shore, we got more pacific white sides! These curious dolphins are always a treat, especially since we see them so rarely.
