A SMORGASBORD of species today! This morning, we headed out into deeper water and relocated the pod of Risso’s dolphins that seem to be hanging around the last few days! This pod looked even bigger than it did the last few days, like they’re putting the word out that we have got eatin here in SD! 300- 400 individuals spread out over a mile of ocean this time.
We managed to find some jumpy short beaked common dolphins as well, some babies practicing their first few backflips! An ENORMOUS fin whale closed our trip and hung out with us this afternoon as well. The towering spouts, hanging in the air shimmering in the bright day light.
