MULTIPLE MULTIPLES!
The gray migration is in full swing, the whales are cruising down our coastline on their way to Mexico, and we’ve been spotting them on every trip lately. Not just a whale — multiples each time.
This afternoon we first came across a pod of almost 50 offshore bottlenose dolphins, a tight‑knit group gliding through clear, glassy water, giving everyone fantastic views.
Then we saw spouts in the distance, and suddenly the boat turned into a chorus of, “I thought this was a WHALE watch!” So off we went to give the people what they came for.
We caught up with a pod of three gray whales, traveling just below the surface and breathing on a steady rhythm. Two of the three lifted high flukes every time they dove. Then we found two more grays doing the same — and a sixth whale appeared on our last few miles home.
Six whales total in one trip! The gray migration is showing off, and we’re here for it.
