We set out West today and had a few California Sea Lions say hello to us! While we were underway we got to see some Brown Pelicans cruising over a very calm ocean, taking advantage of the very little wild we experienced at sea today. After some patience we were rewarded by a Blue Whale! This individual we believe was feeding on a school of fish we could detect with our fish finder at ~600 feet in depth, and was making massive underwater circles in pursuit. We caught some beautiful up-close glimpses of their trips to the surfaces and it was well worth the wait! Ended the trip with a stellar display of crepuscular rays.
