The quiet ocean ERUPTED with life today. The dolphins were feeling flashy, and at one point a few hundred of them all kicked into high gear — running full‑tilt and LAUNCHING out of the water like little dopamine torpedoes. The whole boat was giggling and gasping with joy.

We spent the afternoon with enormous pods of both long‑beaked and short‑beaked common dolphins, and then got a rare treat on our sunset trip: a mixed pod of BOTH species cruising together. Add in yet another stellar San Diego sunset to polish it off.
