It was a semi-charmed kinda life on the Inspiration this morning. We set out a total of 12 miles NW, the furthest possible for this vessel during our trips, and encountered a pod of ~50 short beaked common dolphins. Further to the NW while investing a reported sighting of a fin whale we were extremely surprised by the sudden appearance of a minke whale! This individual was no “jumper” and cruised right by our bow. Heading in an ocean sunfish also gave us a wave and a bachelor group of ~10 short beaked commons did their best to show us their “motorcycle drive by” as they zipped south.
