Rocking and rolling on the sunny seas the Privateer made its way to the Northwest in a 3-4 ft swell, where the crew were using their expertise to determine the difference between white caps and dolphins and found the best pod of ~300 short beaked common dolphins! They swam in dense formations and brought their tiny babies to bow-ride, while others launched themselves out of water.

One of the leaping short-beaked dolphin was carrying a remora on its back, so potentially it was jumping to remove the hitch-hiker.

Seas calmed down on our sunset trip a little but its seems like all the cetaceans went home early to prepare for the school week ahead and it was exceptionally quiet out there.

We did have a beautiful windswept sunset finishing our day on the water.
