It was a spectacular trip to remember! We were successful in catching up with the fast traveling Eastern Tropical Pacific killer whale pod that took down a Fin whale this morning! We zoomed up to the NW and hung out as they raced up the coast at 6-9mph! We observed a beautiful pod of three Orcas, consisting of a cow/calf pair and another female or subadult male! We were lucky to see a beautiful rainblow as they surfaced next to the boat! They aimed toward another pod of four that was just a half a mile away. They never joined up but were clearly traveling up the coast. The quad pod consisted of two smaller ones and two larger individuals! What really made the evening special was the incredible sea conditions and scenery! We had dramatic puffy rain clouds including rain pouring down on the horizon! AND a beautiful rainbow to the north. The sunset was so dreamy and in the midst of the scene was the two ETP pods! We call that Nature at its Finest!
Come join us this weekend…who knows when they will come back into town!

Vanessa
