We had a beautiful day with Gray whales sighted all day! We sighted a single gray whale and a single bottlenose dolphin on the afternoon trip!
On our sunset trip, we cruised out to the SW and spotted a bunch of spouts on the horizon! We enjoyed hanging out with a TRIO of southbound Gray whales! They came up for 3-4 breaths each and all dove with flukes up! We watched them cruise out toward Mexico. We did notice some surface active behavior, with one whale rolled at the surface as it went down for a dive! We pushed back up to the NW and followed the drop-off. We were about to turn in, when Captain Michael spotted a spout to the west of us! We turned straight out and waited a really long time and began to head back in. Then at the last second, they popped back up again! We got a few quick looks! The sunset was glorious! It was the perfect backdrop!
