Today’s feeding frenzy was OFF THE CHARTS.
We headed south to where the whales have been hanging out, and everything — and I mean everything — was in one place. Three humpback whales in the area, a fin whale, and well over 1,000 common dolphins all diving into the action.
It was a bit of a trek, but it felt like we’d sailed straight into an episode of Blue Planet. Everywhere you looked, animals were feasting — dolphins surfing in our wake, whales surfacing on both sides of the vessel, and spouts scattered across the horizon.
Then we pulled up to a massive shadow in the water… a huge, swirling bait ball of schooling fish, like a dark pit in the middle of the ocean. We watched dolphins attack from every angle, devouring fish faster than we could even process. Pure, wild ocean energy.
Days like this remind us just how alive the Pacific is.
