WOOOOO!!! It was INCREDIBLE out there!
We barely had to leave the bay before we stumbled into an absolutely enormous feeding frenzy – the kind you dream about and maybe see once or twice a season in San Diego.

It started with 500+ common dolphins and a single humpback whale, all charging through the bait balls left and right. Then two more humpbacks rolled in and the whole ocean just erupted – lunge feeding, a full raft of sea lions, and THOUSANDS of seabirds raining down from every direction.

At first it was chaos in the best way – one whale baitball‑hopping with no clear pattern, dolphins slicing through the water, birds diving like arrows. Eventually everything synced up and we got incredibly close looks. It felt like we were living inside an episode of National Geographic.

We could feel the sea spray on our faces, hear the rush of water as dolphins torpedoed past.
Everything was visceral, wild, alive.
