Beautiful start to our Tuesday out on the Pacific Ocean, which felt way more like a lake today.
It was glassy with mild wind ripples and very little swell! A great day to be out for our more seasick afflicted friends.
We made our way out to the west to the drop-off to where we discovered a splashy and busy pod of ~300 short beaked common dolphins!
There were some of the tiniest little dolphins in the pod trying their hardest to keep up with mum.
Heading south to maximize our time on the ocean and leave no stone unturned, we found another pod of ~200 short beaked common dolphins around the Nine Mile Bank.
Our trip to the coast was filled with picturesque views of Pt Loma and Sunset Cliffs, and ~50 long beaked common dolphins guiding us back to the jetties.
No big baleen friends this morning. Maybe they’ll be passing through on our sunset trip today.
