This afternoon’s trip on the Privateer was one for the books for me! I’ve been humpback whale watching for the past 12 years and each time I see one it’s a unique and amazing experience! This little humpback had lots of whale lice and even some rake marks (potentially orca?) on his tail! So he’s been through the wringer but gave Privateer’s passengers beautiful looks. Even after all my years on the water, I had a first animal today: a great white shark! This animal was at minimum 12-13 feet long and Captain Michael said it was the biggest he has seen in San Diego!
I love that the ocean still surprises me after all this time!
