BREACH!
After a quiet afternoon, our evening trip got a surprise visit from a younger humpback whale that practically escorted us all the way toward San Diego Bay, hanging out right in the entrance channel.
This youngster put on one heck of a show!
We watched it rolling through the kelp, enjoying what can only be described as a whale-sized ocean exfoliation session. Then the little guy treated us to a couple of spy hops before tail lobbing TWICE!
As we headed home, the whale launched into a HUGE FULL-BODY BREACH, exploding completely out of the water with the San Diego skyline as its backdrop. The entire boat lost it! 😱🐋💥
Moments later, the sunset absolutely erupted across the sky. Brilliant fuchsias, fiery reds, and deep purples stretched from horizon to horizon, reflecting across glassy seas like a painting.
